This template helps you analyze how different cohorts (groups of users who signed up at the same time) behave over time.
It’s most commonly used for:
Each row = a cohort
Each column = time period after signup (Week 0, Week 1, Week 2...)
You can display either:
| Signup Week | Users (Week 0) | Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 1–7 | 1,000 | 550 (55%) | 410 (41%) | 290 (29%) | 220 (22%) |
| Jan 8–14 | 900 | 495 (55%) | 360 (40%) | 250 (28%) | 180 (20%) |
| Jan 15–21 | 1,100 | 610 (55%) | 460 (42%) | 300 (27%) | 190 (17%) |
| Jan 22–28 | 950 | 500 (53%) | 370 (39%) | 260 (27%) | 210 (22%) |
✅ Add conditional formatting to highlight drop-offs or retention spikes.
